The Pilates method, sometimes simply called Pilates, is a physical exercise system developed in the early twentieth century by a sports enthusiast and human body, Joseph Pilates. The Pilates method is applied to carpet with or without accessories or with appliances.

It aims to develop deep muscles, improve posture, balance muscles and relax joint, for maintenance, improvement or restoration of physical functions.
